Starting in 1969 as a small Swedish company importing components for the building automation industry, Calectro grew steadily through the 70’s and 80’s. Then in 1994 the launch of the Uniguard ventilation duct smoke detector with its innovative and patented single-tube aerodynamic venturi became an overnight success with many major fire alarm companies taking own-brand versions of this product.
In 1995 Calectro decided to partner with Nittan who have develop smoke detectors specifically for use in the Calctro range of duct probes starting with the ST-I-DA then ST-P-DA , with onward development resulting in the Calectro branded EVC-PY-DA product in 2007 with automatic sensitivity adjustment and a service alarm, and in 2008 the EVC-PY-IS for ATEX applications.
These Nittan developed and manufactured products are now Calectro primary recommendation for use in Calectro Duct Probes. This partnership and onward development continue today with a new enhanced smoke detector model currently under test at VdS specifically for use with Calectro latest model duct probes.
