International Women’s Day

To celebrate International Women’s Day, we want to spotlight Sue, our HR manager, who celebrates an incredible 40 years of working for Nittan Europe this year.

So let’s look back on Sue’s career journey and how Nittan has nurtured her in order to help her progress from shop floor to higher management.

Sue started working for Nittan, straight after she finished school. Her first job was assembling fire detectors, and she settled in very quickly. She remembers those days with fond memories and states, ‘Nittan manufactured detectors, parts, and many ancillaries in the UK back then. The factory was really vibrant with so many people in diverse roles, and it was exciting to be part of it”.

She later moved on to the quality department and recalls helping load the first computer data at Nittan. She also dipped her feet into the purchasing department before moving on to her current HR manager role, where she enjoys making a difference in employee growth.

‘Nittan always provided a variety of career scopes at the right time and challenges that come with it. Having the right attitude and being willing to challenge myself has put me where I am now.’ said Sue.

Some people call her the ‘Mum of Nittan’. She considers Nittan like a big family as it feels personal to her.

Congratulations on the 40th work anniversary, and here’s to many more years growing with Nittan.
